Archdiocese of Denver Synod 2021-23
Communion. Participation. Mission.
The Synod on Synodality is an assembling of the entire Church over the next two years, at the invitation of our Holy Father, to encounter Christ, journey together and listen to the Holy Spirit. The faithful of the Archdiocese of Denver are invited to engage in a process of formation and listening in order to regain clarity on the mission God has given to His Church, and for where and how He is inviting us to extend that mission today in our new apostolic age.
Synodality enables the entire People of God to walk forward together, listening to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, to participate in the mission of the Church in the communion that Christ establishes between us; breathing life and vitality into the Church and leading us into deeper communion for our mission in the world.
What is God’s plan for the Church here and now? How can we implement God’s mission for the Church on the local level?
·Communion: By his gracious will, God gathers us together as diverse peoples of one faith, through the covenant that he offers to his people.
·Participation: A call for the involvement of all who belong to the People of God – laity, consecrated and ordained – to engage in the exercise of deep and respectful listening to one another.
·Mission: The Church exists to evangelize. We can never be centered on ourselves. Our mission is to witness to the love of God in the midst of the whole human family.
By virtue of our Baptism, we are called to be active participants in the life of the Church. We are God’s ambassadors here on earth. Being Catholic is who we are, not what we do on Sundays.
We invite you to prayerfully respond to the call of Pope Francis and Archbishop Aquila to lend your voice to continued mission of God’s Holy Church. This is not an opportunity to focus on the “problems” of the Church. It is an opportunity to for us to look around, see things from other points of view, and to move out in missionary outreach to the peoples of the world.

There are five very short videos to view and take to prayer with the Holy Spirit asking Him to speak to your heart on the information viewed, and then answer the three questions offered following the videos. Responses to the questions will be submitted online to the Archdiocese and are due by Friday, February 18.
Synodal Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name. With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts; Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it. We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder. Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions. Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right. All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.
Nuestro llamado al discipulado
Arquidiócesis de Denver Sínodo 2021-23
Comunión. Participación. Misión.
El Sínodo sobre la Sinodalidad es una reunión de toda la Iglesia durante los próximos dos años, por invitación de nuestro Santo Padre, para encontrar a Cristo, caminar juntos y escuchar al Espíritu Santo. Se invita a los fieles de la Arquidiócesis de Denver a participar en un proceso de formación y escucha para recuperar la claridad sobre la misión que Dios le ha dado a Su Iglesia, y sobre dónde y cómo Él nos está invitando a extender esa misión hoy en nuestra nueva edad apostólica.
La sinodalidad permite a todo el Pueblo de Dios a caminar juntos, en escucha del Espíritu Santo y de la Palabra de Dios, para participar de la misión de la Iglesia en la comunión que Cristo establece entre nosotros; insuflar vida y vitalidad a la Iglesia y conducirnos a una comunión más profunda para nuestra misión en el mundo.
¿Cuál es el plan de Dios para la Iglesia aquí y ahora? ¿Cómo podemos implementar la misión de Dios para la Iglesia a nivel local?
• Comunión: Por su bondadosa voluntad, Dios nos reúne como pueblos diversos de una sola fe, a través de la alianza que ofrece a su pueblo.
• Participación: Un llamado a la implicación de todos los que pertenecen al Pueblo de Dios -laicos, consagrados y ordenados- para que se comprometan en el ejercicio de una profunda y respetuosa escucha mutua.
• Misión: La Iglesia existe para evangelizar. Nunca podemos estar centrados en nosotros mismos. Nuestra misión es dar testimonio del amor de Dios en medio de toda la familia humana.
En virtud de nuestro Bautismo, estamos llamados a ser participantes activos en la vida de la Iglesia. Somos los embajadores de Dios aquí en la tierra. Ser católico es lo que somos, no lo que hacemos los domingos.
Lo invitamos a responder en oración al llamado del Papa Francisco y el Arzobispo Aquila para prestar su voz a la misión contínua de la Santa Iglesia de Dios. Esta no es una oportunidad para enfocarse en los “problemas” de la Iglesia. Es una oportunidad para que miremos a nuestro alrededor, veamos las cosas desde otros puntos de vista y avancemos en el alcance misionero a los pueblos del mundo.

Hay cinco videos muy cortos para ver y orar con el Espíritu Santo pidiéndole que le hable a su corazón sobre la información que vio, y luego responda las tres preguntas que se ofrecen después de los videos. Las respuestas a las preguntas se enviarán en línea a la Arquidiócesis y deben presentarse antes del viernes 18 de febrero.
Oración sinodal
Estamos ante tí, Espíritu Santo, mientras nos reunimos en tu nombre. Solo contigo para guiarnos, siéntete como en casa en nuestros corazones; Enséñanos el camino que debemos seguir y cómo debemos seguirlo. Somos débiles y pecadores; no nos dejes promover el desorden. No dejes que la ignorancia nos lleve por el camino equivocado ni que la parcialidad influya en nuestras acciones. Que encontremos en Tí nuestra unidad para que caminemos juntos hacia la vida eterna y no nos desviemos del camino de la verdad y del bien. Todo esto te lo pedimos a Tí, que estás obrando en todo lugar y tiempo, en la comunión del Padre y del Hijo, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
