The sacrament of matrimony is celebrated for a man and a woman wishing to be wed in Christian Marriage. The couple must call the parish before setting the date of marriage and at least 8 months prior to the desired date.
The 8 month preparation period is a requirement of the Archdiocese of Denver to ensure that the future spouses are given the greatest opportunity to fully prepare for this lifelong sacrament in which each spouse gives themselves irrevocably to the other. Such a sacred gift of self is held in the highest esteem by the Church, and as such treated with great care and protection.
