Adult Sacramental Prep

For those Catholics 16 and over desiring to receive the sacraments of confirmation or first communion, sacramental prep is done through the year long class of OCIA, the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. This is a Order that dates all the way back to the first centuries of the Church.

OCIA is a process of prayer, reflection, and learning that allows for the continual discernment of God’s will in our lives. No matter where you are on your faith journey, there is a place for you at St. John’s! The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a process for adults, and consists of a weekly class and discussion. Essentially, it’s an introductory theology overview of the Catholic faith.

If you’d like to join OCIA and attend classes (no commitment required, those simply interested in learning more are welcome) you can do so by registering by clicking the button below, or email Danielle Coon at daniellec@johnthebaptist.org.

Classes are Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 PM August-April, and Thursday evenings 7-8:15 PM May-July.
