Altar and Rosary Society

The Altar and Rosary Society is an active body of women with over 100 members. Meetings are held once a month as the large assembly, and broken down into smaller groups called Circles, which also meet monthly. The purpose of the Society is to foster love for the House of God, and to labor for its proper adornment and cleanliness; to promote frequent attendance at Mass and the reception of Holy Communion; and to enjoy membership in the CCW. Its numerous activities include:

  • cleaning the church once each month
  • rummage sales
  • purchase of Altar Breads
  • luncheons and receptions
  • sponsoring 'Undie Sunday'
  • Funeral dinners
(Funeral dinners are requested through the parish office only as part of the official arrangements of the Funeral Home.)
  • Birthday Club

To receive a newsletter or for more information, contact President Sue Tornow (303-772-2689). The Altar & Rosary Society meets on the first Wednesday of the month.

It is affiliated with the Secretariat of the Laity at the Vatican. Individual women can be members, and groups can be affiliated, such as is St. John's Altar and Rosary Society. Meetings are held on several levels and include days of Spiritual Enrichment. To participate in the CCW's many activities, please call Donna Rogers (303-652-2219), Northern Area President.
